DENTAL X-RAY

SERVICES

How often do I need dental x-rays?

We prefer to take a full set of digital dental x-rays whenever we see someone for the first time. This is because we like to carry out a very thorough initial assessment that will give us with a clear overview of your dental health. The information provided by these x-rays is invaluable in helping us formulate the most appropriate treatment plan. The Dental Group Dingley  will only take dental x-rays when necessary and most healthy adults with reasonable dental health will only require routine x-rays every two years or if a problem arises.

When might I require a dental x-ray?

We use digital dental x-rays to diagnose, plan and treat conditions that are hidden from view. Our dentists may suggest taking an x-ray if we suspect you have decay in the contact areas in between your teeth, or if we think a tooth may be infected. We also take x-rays to plan treatments, in particular orthodontics, dental implants or for wisdom tooth management.

Are there any other advantages in using digital dental x-rays?

The digital images are available to view immediately and can help us explain our findings more clearly to you. When required, we can send these images to specialists. Our equipment is modern and extremely well-maintained and we take every precaution to ensure you are safe during this procedure.
